DCMS Class

Teachers will be willing to work collaboratively with a dedicated group of colleagues and students in a flexible, team-oriented environment. In your job, you must be willing to stretch beyond a traditional job description as you live and work closely with the local community and Cape Eleuthera Foundation. Our faculty demonstrates resourcefulness by designing curriculum, developing partnerships within the local and Foundation community and engaging families to support the mission of DCMS.

In this position, you will utilize a variety of instructional strategies consistent with the DCMS mission to teach national curriculum and the core values of the school. Our curriculum and pedagogy allows for a lot of flexibility as teachers focus on the real world concepts, skills and values that the students will need to be successful community members. Place and project-based lessons with experiential components are used to engage students. School is open five days a week from 8:00am until 2:30 pm. Teachers also staff afterschool, weekend and evening tutoring, sports, or literacy programs for the community.

Those who join our high-functioning team will be committed to achieving the goals of DCMS and the Cape Eleuthera Foundation. A minimum two-year commitment is required. We are an equal opportunity employer and especially encourage applications from Bahamians.
