Eleuthera, The Bahamas

The Deep Creek Middle School (DCMS) is an independent school for Bahamian students in grades seven through nine. The school was founded with the support of the Cape Eleuthera Foundation in September 2001, growing out of The Island School’s Community Outreach Program. DCMS is fully endorsed and recognized by the Bahamian Ministry of Education. In 2007, DCMS enrolled 33 students from settlements in South Eleuthera.

Vision Statement

The vision of the Deep Creek Middle School and Resource Center is to collaborate with the Bahamian Ministry of Education to build a place based academic program that intellectually challenges students both in and out of the classroom. The middle school provides a high quality education that encourages individual growth as students and leaders. Students will develop their skills, build their confidence and prepare themselves for success through rigorous academics and a strong sense of community.
