Grade 9
The grade nine class is able to take on the leadership role in the school. Most of these students have been at DCMS since their grade seven year, so they are accustomed to our teaching style and have come to really understand our school values. This added responsibility of being the role models on campus does come with some privileges. Over the fall, the students begin their SCUBA training and we expect them to be certified before spring break in March. They are able to use their SCUBA skills in their field-trip series to identify fish, get to know what's out there in the water, and be more informed on the debate about Marine Protected Areas in South Eleuthera and The Bahamas. Each fall semester, our grade nine class performs two acts from the play ‘A Raisin in the Sun’ by Lorraine Hansberry. It is a yearly tradition that the whole school community enjoys. |
